I've always had a problem with this sort of thing.
Why do I have to follow some sort of predefined rule that someone some large number of years ago decided was the right way to do it?
Same reason I refuse to write in traditional paragraphs like we've all just accepted as chiseled in stone since we were 9.
Writing the way I do works better... so I don't care what the rules say, I do it my way...
...just like I refused to put my fingers where Mrs. Durant told me to and kept doing it my way.
I found what worked for me and I kept doing it.
How do I know what I did worked?
Mrs. Durant taught keyboarding part time at a technical college, and was a secretary full time.
So I can confidently say I have typed my way to more money in the last 6 months than she did in her entire career.
(To be clear there's nothing wrong with either of those professions... I'm just talking aobut the math)
Listen to smart people.
Consider their advice...
...but don't blindly accept anything.
When something doesn't feel right to you, try doing it a way that does.
If it gets results for you and the other way doesn't then ignore the advice and do it your way...
...there are no rules that say you have to type, or write, or do math or almost anything else the way anyone tells you.
The only thing that matters in life is the result you get.
So do what you can do to get the best results and don't let the Mrs. Durants of the world force you to put your fingers where you don't want to.
